I purchased my first SLR camera at 18 years old. I used the money my parents gave me for my class ring to help buy the camera. In December 2008 I purchased my third SLR and my first digital camera.
I’m a pilot and love to fly. I think all pilots love photography. We all want to photograph the airplanes we see. My number one passion in photography therefore is photographing airplanes, especially at air shows. In 2015 I attended my 36th consecutive Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) Air Show and Convention (now days called AirVenture) in Oshkosh, WI. I also love abstract photography. My endeavor is to find art in the ordinary. My abstract world covers people, objects, and architecture. The goal in any photo I take of this wondrous world is to capture its beauty and awe. High Dynamic Range or HDR photography is my latest area of fascination. I can take all types of photography i.e. Aviation, Landscape, Abstract, Architecture, etc. and really add an artistic touch to them.
I’m married and have two boys. I fly a Cessna 172 and am part owner of Nicolet Airport, a small grass strip airport on the east side of Green Bay, WI. I’ve worked for Integrys Energy Group, the holding company of Wisconsin Public Service for over 32 years. In 1992 I traveled to India for 6 ½ weeks through Rotary International and took many awesome photos. My photo of the Taj Mahal made the front cover of Contact Magazine with an article of my trip published inside. I also had an article on EAA and aviation in India published in Sport Aviation Magazine. See… aviation and photography do go together.
